Resident local artists include Daniel Cushing (Graphic Designer, Ptolemy Elrington (sculptor, working mostly with recycled art and Damon Roberts a Graphic Designer from Leeds, whose work always insipres ourselves.
All artists work is for sale and we hope to keep a stock soon, in the Hove map case, a little piece of artwork itself from Hove library. This housed all maps of Hove including very old hand drawn maps. A piece of local history recycled for a new project. Not bad for a tenner!
Please bare with us as we try to bring Cafe Monella truly to life. We have young children and another business so time is very much a factor in what we can achieve at this moment.

The wonderland that Dodgson imagined for his Alice is made contemporary by Daniel as a richly textured world full of treasure; but has Alice become a consumer or is she still an innocent explorer? The prints are created from a mix of multi-media hand renderings combined with digitally made imagery.
In her virginal white gown, marred by a single drop of blood, Snow White rushes on to centre stage. The setting is featureless and almost without texture. Like the Amy she portrays she is alone and complete in herself. The prints are created from a mix of multi-media hand renderings combined with digitally made imagery.
Initially generated from a sound signal that was visualised through a custom software application, the raw image was then transferred to film then sharpened by hand using an etching technique directly onto the film. The final print has been produced in three separate colours including metal pigment silver. High quality recycled stock from the British Paperback Co-operative. Size (A2) 640mm x 450mm. Each one is stamped and signed.
